How to Enable and Disable Sync in Chrome and Edge

How to Turn On Sync in Chrome or Edge

Step 1: Open Chrome or Edge.

Step 2: Click the three dots in the upper-right corner to open the browser menu.

Step 3: Select "Settings" from the menu.

Step 4: Scroll down to the "Sync and Google Services" section.

Step 5: Turn on the toggle switch next to "Sync."

Step 6: If prompted, sign in to your Google account to link it with the browser.

Step 7: Click the three dots in the upper-right corner to reopen the menu.

Step 8: Select "Advanced Sync Settings."

Step 9: Choose the types of data you'd like to sync.

Step 10: Click the "Sync" button to save your changes.

Step 11: "Sync is on" should now appear under the "Sync and Google Services" section.

How to Turn Off Sync in Chrome or Edge

Step 1: Open Chrome or Edge.

Step 2: Click the three dots in the upper-right corner to open the menu.

Step 3: Select "Settings" from the menu.

Step 4: Scroll down to the "Sync and Google Services" section.

Step 5: Toggle off the switch next to "Sync."

Step 6: Confirm your intent to disable sync when prompted.

Step 7: "Sync is off" should now appear under the "Sync and Google Services" section.

Please Note

Disabling sync will remove all synced data from your browser and stop syncing to your linked Google or Microsoft account.
